Differences

There's a difference between being nice and being used, doing things for others because you want to and doing things because your a pushover, doing things out of the niceness of your heart and doing things out of guilt. There is a fine hazy line between each of these that needs to be more defined for me.

A friend that I ran into after such a long time texted me, saying " It was fun running into you. It's good to know where I came from.  I used to think everyone was like us but you're more special than you think." My first thought was i have no idea what he means but omg is he hitting on me? And most guys would say yes he is. But I don't think so..either way this is what I got out of the message: As time goes on, you get exposed to new ppl/new environments etc, and you start to realize that it is really hard to find genuinely nice people now a days. You start to cherish the ppl that have been in your life already. And what I think Josh has taught me here is to really stick to your values and not let this outside clutter affect who you are. Don't let others bring you down. You need to believe in yourself not only for you but for those around you. You can be a good influence on other ppl without realizing it and really help others develop their own light in this world of dimness.

Opportunities

Opportunities are everywhere. Opportunities for career advancement, for new relationships, for personal growth...but it's up to us to reach for them :) Often we are more capable than we think we are.

Patience is key

I've been stuck on the pulaski skyway for over an hour...Lesson today is that its important to practice patience. Can't do anything about what you can't control! Time to continue sitting, blasting music, and pretending to have a party in my car ;)

Jaded

One thing about being in a political environment most days of the week is that it can really make you jaded. I start questioning people's real intentions...if they really genuinely want to build a relationship with you or not and it's hard! Hard to figure out. And then I start bringing that sort of crazy thought process into the real world and I need to put a halt to it. Work's world can be very different compared to the outside world. Either way I need to not let this stuff affect who I am. Just have to continue being me....whoever that is :) and let it all continue around me.

Recently, I've been lounging around at home and I constantly am finding myself in a bad mood. I have been giving off negative vibes (mainly to my parents) but also to the environment around me. Today, I realized that I really need to make my own moves...and do things that'll make me feel more alive.
